When word got out about the unveiling of the Nike Air Mag taking place here in Los Angeles, I had to go. It was a crazy night but well worth it. We waited for hours and was really close to not making it in. I had to pull the "I'm part of the media" card out. Luckily we all got it.
Nike really knows how to throw an event! They went all out with the Cafe 80's and Back to the Future movie props scattered all around Nike Montalban in Hollywood. A replica Delorean was parked in the front too. They had free food and drinks. The show was hosted by Joel McHale of The Soup. There was a live DJ and even an appearance of "Doc" himself Christopher Lloyd. The Designer of the 2011 Nike Mag Tinker Hatfield was there to talk about how the concept shoe become reality.
At the end there was a live auction for one pair of the 2011 Nike Mag complete with plutonium box, shirt, pin and personally signed by Michael J. Fox. It went for $37,000!
